AP Biology - Human Physiology

Hi AP Bio Students!

Here is the blog to help you prepare for the exam on Human Physiology. I hope that you will use this as an area to ask questions of myself and each other. I will check the blog daily to stay in touch over the Easter Vacation. After you set up your profile, e-mail me your screen name and your password (mutley@cvcs.org). If you forget your password, I can e-mail it to you so that you can keep the same screen name. It will also allow me to know who you are. I would also prefer that you keep your screen names secret from each other. When others don't know who you are, that leaves you more open to responding freely. God bless you, I pray that you enjoy the Easter holiday and I will see you soon!

Blessings!

Mrs. Utley

P.S. This counts as exam preparation points. :)
P.S2 - Hi Biology Students...This post is for AP only...keep an eye out for a new post for you! Blessings!

Hi,
I didn't know that it counted as a point,
anyway, I don't understand how the cells are depolarized and what 'deplorization' really mean,

Hi Neil,

I apologize for this being so late...depolarization is a change in the membrane potential. At resting state, the inside of a nerve cell has a negative charge in comparison to the outside. When an impulse comes through this relative charge reverses. The inside becomes more positively charged than the outside which causes the nerve cell to pass along the nerve impulse. The membrane is said to be depolarized. I hope this helps! Blessings! Mrs. Utley
